We are delighted to advise that Brian Paxton was crowned “Top Rooster” as the inaugural winner of our recently introduced “Quick Fire Tournament” last Thursday.
After 17 weeks of challenging games Brian was ahead on the point score table with 194 Just pipping one of our new members, Della Fondaumiere on 191 Points. Pat Biddell was a close 3rd with 182.
It was pleasing to see 34 competitors, take to the greens for at least one match in this abridged version of our game and a core group of around 16 players fronted up each and every week despite some adverse weather conditions over the length of the tournament. Several new bowling members have emerged from the Group and I hope they will be enthusiastically welcomed into our bowling community should they elect to play on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Many of you will be aware that the tournament experienced “rough seas” as it fought to establish a solid baseline and the emergence of a generous sponsor enabled the organizer to provide the winner of Series 1 with a book of ten premium movie tickets with a face value of $150.00 from the historical Orpheum Theatre in Cremorne. We sincerely thank the Sponsor for this significant donation.
Wow!!!!! It then came as quite a shock when following the award presentation, Brian decided to hand back the tickets to the organizer to form part of the winning bonus for Series 2. That is just the way he rolls………Thank you Brian.
What’s next?, well I am also pleased to advise that over the next couple of weeks we will just maintain the program as usual each Thursday however NO points will be allocated.
Series 2 will commence 18 July 2024 and run for 20 weeks and will be finalised on 28 November 2024. Xmas Hampers + the movie tickets will be awarded to the top point scorers. Please remember that a maximum of 21 points are on offer each and every week and regular attendance provides you with the greatest opportunity to top the leaderboard.
The tournament is open to everyone (FULL and SOCIAL Members@$10/Game) and if you haven’t had a game as yet, I encourage you to come along and give it a go………you may be surprised how much fun you can have and it is all over in 90 minutes if you have time restraints.

Although 20 weeks is the Tournament the number of weeks you attend is not relevant if it’s just a Fun Morning you are looking for, on a Drop In Basis.
