At a packed crowd at the Club on Saturday night. Everyone enjoying the Clubs Presentation Night we made the draws for both of the Open Major Singles Competition and for the first time since 2020, the Ladies Major Singles Competition. The Winners of each competition will progress to the Mens and Ladies Champion of Champions State Tournaments respectively in December.

Open Major Singles

24 players entered the competition and the draw was made into 8 Pools of 3 Players at random.

Format:

4-bowl.

Pool Stages Series: First to 21 shots

Knock-out Finals series: First to 25 shots

Shots above the winning threshold (21 or 25) do not count

Two Trial ends before each game.

Game 1 will be played by Player 1 and Player 2 in the Pool and Marked by Player 3.

Game 2 will be played by Player 3 and the Loser of Game 1.

Game 3 will be played by Player 3 and the winner of Game 1.

This MUST be the order of play for each pool.

DETERMINING SECTION WINNERS

3 points per win; 0 points for a loss

Winner of the Pool will be the player with the most points from all games.

If two or more players are on equal points, the player with largest difference between “shots for” and “shots against (“margin”) will win the Pool.

If there is still a tie, the player with the least “shots against” will be the winner. (BNSW CoP 1.36.2)

If two players remain tied, the winner of the match between those players shall be declared the Pool winner.

Although, not compulsary. The Match Committee is encouraging the Pool Stage be played in 1 day. If this happens, a break of 30 minutes is advised between each game.

All matches played under NSWBowls COP

All rounds up to and including the Semi-Finals must be completed on or before Saturday 3rd October 2026.

Final will commence at 2pm Sunday 4th October 2026.

Wet weather (which is the controlling body's decision NOT THE PLAYERS)

Higher representative duties (ie state competitions)

Marker

If you lose a round in the knockout stages, please be prepared to mark a match in the next round
